Ucardia is on a mission to support the best possible heart health for those who have cardiovascular disease or have experienced a cardiac event as well as those who are focused on prevention and want to improve their heart health overall. We serve employers, payers, health systems, and our program is also available directly to consumers. Ucardia believes in fully leveraging technology and highly-credentialed human coaches to deliver our programs virtually to participants at home or wherever it’s most convenient for them.
We’re seeking experienced Exercise Physiologists for immediate and future hire to provide a top-notch, high-touch personalized experience that helps our program participants who are living with cardiovascular disease, or who have experienced a cardiovascular event improve and/or recover their cardiac health. This will occur by supporting the creation of sustainable heart healthy habits with a focus on fitness along with stress reduction, nutrition, weight management and sleep.
Part-time, Contract: 15-20 hours per week.
Location: Fully remote within the continental U.S.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting the delivery of an app-based digital health program for an assigned caseload of participants focused on heart health including proactive participant outreach via text to build rapport, engage the newly-onboarded, sustain their program engagement and satisfaction and maximize outcomes.
- Co-create each participant’s heart health vision, short-term and long-term SMART goals and action plan anticipating obstacles and holding them accountable using your full coaching toolkit as needed.
- Conduct live video coaching sessions and check-in sessions; carry on a meaningful text-based coaching session if so desired by the participant.
- Adjust participants’ on-demand video-based exercise programs as needed based on client preferences, feedback and changes in health or capabilities to customize their experience and keep them safely progressing towards their goals.
- Demonstrate equipment and/or exercises via live video calls with participants upon request
- Provide vetted resources and/or evidence-based answers to participant questions within scope of practice.
- Collaborate with Ucardia Exercise Physiologists and Clinical team on complex participant situations.
- Contribute to development of coaching best practices, exercise session enhancements, app enhancements and optimizing processes and systems.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Completion of Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) certification
- Bachelors of Science in exercise or applied physiology, kinesiology or sports medicine or related science
- 2+ years experience as an exercise physiologist focused on helping program participants with cardiovascular disease improve, or in the case of those with a recent cardiac event, recover, their cardiovascular health
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience working with, and proactively engaging, a high volume of program participants in an assigned caseload.
- Experience with professionally communicating with program participants by video AND text
- Ability to work a flexible schedule–evening and some weekend hours weekly are a must-have; some daytime hours are also possible around peak client needs such as lunchtime and before work.
- Commitment to delivering a top-notch experience with every participant interaction
- Empathetic, non-judgemental, approach always
- Comfortable pivoting as needed in a dynamic, early-stage startup environment
- Passion for the heart health space and working with older adults
- Ability to contribute to program content as a SME as needed
Bonus Points for:
- Nationally-Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) or holding a board-eligible health and wellness coaching certification
- Health and Wellness coaching experience
- Experience working with program participants in a virtual setting
- Experience working with participants in app-based digital health programs
- Experience creating exercise sessions for program members
- Previous start-up experience
- Bilingual - Spanish
- G-Suite, Slack experience
